Adanis tie up fuel linkages for 1,320 Mw power plant in Maha

He said work on erecting boiler for the first generating unit will commence next month, while construction of the main plant will commence in November this year. The company has expansion plans also lined up for the project after completion of the first phase. The capacity would eventually be taken to 3,300 Mw with 1,980 Mw to be added in the second phase. The company plans to operate its own captive coal mines as its requirements grow. It has been allotted blocks at Lohara in Chandrapur district in the Vidarbha region. The coal blocks are just about 11 kms away from Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR). A major controversy had erupted recently following objections by the environment groups against allotments of coal blocks located in deep forests.
