Adanis tie up fuel linkages for 1,320 Mw power plant in Maha

Adani Power Maharashtra, which is setting up a 1,320 Mw thermal plant here has tied up for coal linkages with a central PSU, while it has been alloted blocks for captive coal mines by the Union government. - Jindal Power to invest Rs 13,400 cr to up generation capacity - NPCIL improves power level of nine reactors to 70% - Adani Power, NHPC shares close below issue price - Finolex mulls to raise Rs 50 cr via debenture issue - IOC to form JV with NPCIL for nuclear power plants - HPGCL plans 660 Mw power project in Yamuna Nagar Coal linkages have been completed with the South Eastern Coalfields for the plant, which will start generating power from the second half of 2011-12, APML General Manager Sanjeev Dokey told reporters. He said work on erecting boiler for the first generating unit will commence next month, while construction of the main plant will commence in November this year. The company has expansion plans also lined up for the project after completion of the first phase. The capacity would eventually be taken to 3,300 Mw with 1,980 Mw to be added in the second phase. The company plans to operate its own captive coal mines as its requirements grow. It has been allotted blocks at Lohara in Chandrapur district in the Vidarbha region. The coal blocks are just about 11 kms away from Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR). A major controversy had erupted recently following objections by the environment groups against allotments of coal blocks located in deep forests.
