Colgate-Palmolive Q3 net up 50% at Rs 116 cr

Personal and oral care products maker Colgate-Palmolive today reported a 50 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 116.39 crore in the third quarter ended December 31, 2009 over the same period last fiscal. - Tata Tea Q3 net declines 76% to Rs 92 cr - Apollo Hospitals Q3 net up 48% at Rs 44 cr - J&K Bank Q3 net up 16% to Rs 140 cr - Cairn India Q3 net up 23% to Rs 291 cr - BPCL Q3 profit declines 52% to Rs 379 cr - Central Bank Q3 dips 13% to Rs 306 cr The company had a net profit of Rs 77.74 crore in the third quarter ended December 31, 2008, Colgate-Palmolive said in a statement. During the quarter, the company had net sales of Rs 490.6 crore, a 17 per jump from Rs 419.2 crore recorded in the same period last fiscal. "The company"s continuing efforts and focused programmes to enhance efficiencies and reduce costs continue to yield strong, positive results and fund investments in strengthening brand equity and the business," it said. The company also attributed robust growth to healthy volumes witnessed by its flagship toothpaste brands like "Colgate Dental Cream", "Active Salt" and "Cibaca". "During the quarter, the company achieved a volume growth of 13 per cent, continuing its strong momentum in the toothpaste category, which grew by 15 per cent," the statement added.
