Govt studying use of hydrogen as alternative fuel

Government today said it was carrying out research and development for using hydrogen as an alternative fuel for running transport and other power generation applications. "We are implementing a broad-based research, development and demonstration programme on hydrogen production, its storage and utilisation as an alternative fuel for transport and centralised power generation applications," New and Renewable Energy Minister Farooq Abdullah said in a written reply in Lok Sabha.
