US markets gain on strong data, growth forecast

US markets closed at 13-month highs after China reported growth in industrial production and a reputed homebuilder forecasted higher revenues. - Pyramid hits 10% lower circuit on Sebi ban - Global cues buoy Sensex over 400pts - HCL Tech up 2% on acquisition plans - Sensex ends up 435pts - Markets firm; IT, metal lead - Sensex climbs over 100pts The Dow Jones gined 44 points to 10,291. The S&P 500 was up six points at 1,099. The Nasdaq added 16 points to 2,167. Indian ADRs were in the green. ICICI Bank rallied 6% to $40.68. Sterlite gained 4.5% at $18.24. HDFC Bank, MTNL and Tata Motors added 3.5% each. Infosys advanced 3% to $49.68. Tata Commmunications, Dr Reddy"s, Wipro and Mahindra Satyam moved up 1-2% each.
